We have been Stephen King Fans since 1974 when "Carrie" was first published and have remained so ever since. In 1990 we bought Betts Bookstore and always kept a complete catalog of both Stephen and Tabitha's works in stock in both hardcover and paperback for 20 years. Because of the help that the Kings gave us, we became well known throughout the world as THE place to go to for Stephen King items, and the last 9 years we owned the store, we were 100% Stephen King. After selling the store, I decided to do Stephen King Tours here in "Derry", something we had done for the SKEMERS originally years ago, and it has become a tremendous hit. I've met people from all over the world, all brought together by the love and enjoyment of Steve's stories. But we also have a lot of spouses, partners, and tag alongs' that are not fans. That's where the real fun is. The non-fan usually is truly amazed when they find out that their favorite movie, (usually "Shawshank Redemption" or "The Green Mile") is a Stephen King story! So the following e-mail from Russia wasn't a surprise to me when it came, but it made me realize that there is more to our tour than just seeing some of the sights here in town.

May name is Tatyana. Probable you don't remember, last summer we are group of 6 people came to Bangor to take your tour. One of us was real fan of Stephen King and it was her birthday at this day and we agreed to take this tour to make her happy. I told you I don't like hororrs and don't like to read King's books.
But your tour was SO interesting that I asked you to advise me what to read first if I decide to read Stephen King. You gave me the post card with your suggestions.
I didn't start reading right away, maybe in a month or two i took one book in a library, then downloaded e-books from Amazon, them more and more...
It's unbelivable, i'm reading all the time, no TV, no movie, just Stephen King books. I read already: Green Mile, Bag of Bones, The Shining, Dr Sleep, It (2 books), Wind Through the Key Hole. Now I'm in the middle of 11/22/63.
Its awesome.
I want to say thank you that you opened this world to me.

Syncerelly,
Tatyana

So if you have someone that isn't really interested in taking the tour with you, please let them know that it might be interesting. Especially if Pennywise shows up!
